”Really tight trousers, all of us. So you can see the bulge nicely”
Sylvie’s head ·
We first saw Sylvie’s Head this summer at Spice H2O. I was there with an old French friend, and by this point we’re both getting fairly old, even if we don’t quite realize it. So the sounds they served up felt familiar in a very good way. Sylvie’s Head picks up where many of our favourites did their best work and takes it further. We saw PS earlier this summer, and apart from Bobby, everyone seemed to have decided to be boring. Sylvie’s Head feels fresh and fun!
We wish them all the best and bring you a short interview. Check them out tonight if you have tickets!
Q: How did you guys meet back in the day?
A: We met a few years ago, out of a need to make music with other people.
Q: How do your songs come together?
A: They happen when we want to make a song. Then we decide to make a song, and if we’re lucky, it becomes a song. Sometimes it’s difficult because we’re very lazy.
Q: Does better music generally come from the west coast?
A: Yes, that’s very well proven.
Q: Do you produce everything yourselves?
A: Yes, we produce everything ourselves.
Q: What are your favourite instruments?
A: Melodica.
Q: If you could choose any historical band, including one that no longer exists, to open for you, who would it be?
A: Denim.
Q: In your opinion, what is the best band to have come out of Stockholm and Gothenburg, respectively, of all time?
A: Gothenburg: The Embassy
Stockholm: Drain Gang
Q: If you were forced to wear something uncomfortable on stage, what would each of you willingly choose?
A: Really tight trousers, all of us. So you can see the bulge nicely, like people used to do back in the day.
Q: What’s the coolest electric bass you can own?
A: Rickenbacker 3000. The Mani Bass.
