A few short questions for Tivoli 14, who are playing tomorrow, July 31, at Parken Söder.
Q: Why did you choose to sing in Swedish, and was it an obvious choice?
A: Yes, because the Swedish language is incredibly beautiful!
Q: How do you write your songs?
A: We write most of our songs through improvisation and feeling.
Q: Where do you get your inspiration from?
A: Our vocals and lyrics are mostly inspired by Thåström and various Swedish singers. Instrumentally, we’re influenced by a mix of punk, metal, indie, and, last but not least, classical music.
Q: How did you find each other?
A: It started with a high school competition where students had one week to write a song and then perform it. Olle and Ivar wrote the winning song in just two days, and that’s how the band was formed. Later, we found our drummer and bassist as well.
Q: Your cover artwork is very striking. Do you create it yourselves?
A: Yes, all of our cover artwork is created by Olle Sandqvist.
Q: What can people expect from one of your live shows?
A: Energy, authenticity, and the new wave of Swedish rock.
