Gone Future seem to be a real hit machine, with songs like “The Middle” so we decided to try to dissect them and get a little insight into how it all works. On top of that, they’re playing tonight at PNKSLM’s label night at Spice H2O.

Q: What are your backgrounds in the band?

A: Nicki and Tyra played together in Dolores Haze, Mats was in Mando Diao, and Josefin was in Dead Vibrations and Ruin.

Q: How did you find each other?

A: Through a common enemy 😇

Q: I’ve listened to the three singles I’ve found, and I want to hear more because they’re really fucking good. When is the full-length coming out?

A: Soon!!!!!! The next single comes out September 15th.

Q: Do you think full-length albums are important, or are you more of a singles band?

A: More is more. We actually like full-length albums, but we’re too impatient not to release a bunch of singles first…

Q: Sometimes it says that synths are a thing for you. Do you listen to, or have you listened to, “synth” music? If so, what? Or do you have a passion for big old synths—or both?

A: We like synths! But mostly, we like Mats and his Nord.

Q: Distortion seems to be a big part of what you do. What are your favorite pedals? Do you have a favorite music store in Stockholm?

A: There are lots of good music stores in Stockholm, but we mostly like trading and borrowing gear from our friends. I (Tyra) have a SansAmp, and Mats has loads of different distortion pedals and stuff, I think.

Q: If you go out in Stockholm, where do you usually like to go?

A: We mostly go to Blecktornskällaren and Snövit, like everyone else. And Spice, of course! Jossan also likes watching cover bands at Skanskvarn, and we like karaoke in Rågsved and Hank’s Heaven in Högdalen.

Q: Tell us about your plans for the future.

A: An EP, a tour, maybe something else? We’ll see what happens, but we’re playing in London on October 20th at least!
