Cirkus Prütz is one of the country's hardest‑working bands – it feels like there isn’t a stage south of Dalälven they haven’t played in recent years. If there’s a stage, they play it, and if there isn’t, they’re on the floor. Earlier this year they released their Peter Tägtgren‑produced album “Manifesto” on German Metalville, a record loved by both critics and their loyal listeners.
The music can be described as blues‑rock with Southern influences – ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Blackfoot all in one serving, so to speak. Cirkus Prütz is a quintessential old‑school live band. What you see is what you get: no pre‑recorded tracks, no backings, just four men doing what they love most – playing their blues‑boogie‑rock’n’roll.
Call it boogie, call it blues, call it rock – but they’re called Cirkus Prütz. A band praised by none other than Joe Bonamassa, who thought they’d made one of 2019’s best blues‑rock records. Among their fans you’ll find established musicians like Mike Amott, Peter Tägtgren, Slidin’ Slim and many more. They’ve played with Sky High and everyone else at the top of Swedish blues‑rock, and the circus is known for delivering swing, good humour and high tempo.
The Royal Beggars have roots deeply anchored in the golden age of rock’n’roll and the outlaw country rebel spirit, and they offer a journey full of passion, energy and pure joy of playing. Through a mix of distorted guitars, harmonica, thundering drums and melodic bass lines the band creates a sound that is as captivating as it is swinging, and as raucous as it is decadent. With songs about broken hearts, lost souls and beer‑soaked nights out they deliver a live show that’s hard to resist being drawn into.
The band was founded in Göteborg in 2018 and has since released three EPs, followed by the debut album “Falling To New Heights” which has been praised by both fans and reviewers. In addition to headline gigs at clubs and festivals across Scandinavia, the quartet has toured the United Kingdom and Germany, and shared the stage with bands such as Hardcore Superstar and Quireboys.
Since Bishops is right next to Encore you don’t have to stress: arrive early, have a bite and a drink, then just walk a few steps to the concert. If you want to be sure of getting a spot we recommend booking a table in advance, especially for popular shows and on weekends.
