Desideria is a Swedish musician, composer, producer and sound artist from Lärbro on the island of Gotland. Her music moves between experimental electronica, avant-pop, ambient and sound art, combining electronic textures, modular synthesizers, organic field recordings and her distinctive voice.
A central part of Desideria’s artistic identity is her use of Gutnish, the ancient language of Gotland, alongside English. Through her music, she brings this endangered language into a contemporary and experimental setting, connecting Gotland’s cultural heritage with futuristic electronic sound.
Her work also reflects her background in contemporary dance and movement, often exploring the boundaries between sound, body and visual expression. The result is an atmospheric and highly individual form of electronic music — fragile yet powerful, mystical yet deeply rooted in the landscape and cultural history of Gotland.
